CSF blocking FTP

Only just noticed that CSF is blocking my FTP i use (FileZilla) And also a new program im looking to use (SyncBack). I can only login through FTP if CSF is disabled.
Can anyone give some advice?

Perhaps you need to open the appropriate port in the csf configuration file.

Do you have your IP whitelisted ?
choose firewall allow IP's
and add your IP address to the list.
If you use a dynamic IP range then add an octet range, ie 192.168.0.0/16

This seems to be a problem with Filezilla where it is trying to connect on multiple ports to create a multithreaded upload. Yes you can add the ip address to your whitelist but that then allows them through all ports.
Is there another way?
I've looked at adding ports to the exemption list but the ports that filsezilla uses seems to be random.
Anybody have any other ideas?
