The service “lfd” appears to be down.

Host: CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core)
cPanel: 108.0.11
CSF: 14.17
CSF runs for a while (days) then I get an e-mail that lfd is down (becase it can't restart csf). When I check csf, it is zombied. Almost any command that starts 'csf...' hangs. I can either kill it and let it restart, or I can do a csf -r (or a -f and -s) and wait 10 minutes for it to reload (There are a lot of blocks in the list). It doesn't seem to happen with a pattern or regularity. There is nothing in csf.error. My thought was that the block list is so long the system times out waiting for the quick restart to happen. I have had to make a cron job to force a restart every morning. Usually it works all day, but sometimes only a couple hours later it freezes again and I'll have to restart it. This has been happening for the last 6 months or so.
Any advise on where to check next?
