Redhat 9 and it's derivatives: iptables-nft deprecated?

Post by SamSpade »

I really much appreciated and want to thank you for the implementation of iptables-nft support.

As CPanel's Host Access Control dialogue on Rocky Linux 9.2 and WHM 114 showed errors I solved that by removing firewalld and installing iptables-nft. CSF and Host Access Control both work now without problems.

While reading about nftables I stumbled about the following Redhat documentation stating that ipset and iptables-nft have been deprecated.

Right now it's not a problem but will you switch to nftables in the future as the lifetimes of the "old" Redhat and derivatives OSes approach retirement?

Thanks in advance.

Any update/thoughts/proposals/advice on dealing with the suggestion that "ipset will not be maintained in a future major release" of Rocky 9 Linux?

Thanks.
