Hello everybody,

we use the filename filtering to block ".doc" files. ".docx" should not be blocked.

The problem is, if the filename matches some special criterias, it will be recognized as a .doc file by Mailscanner even though it is a .docx file.

I found several criteria, which will trigger that "bug":

- The filename contains ä, ü, ö (e.g. töst.docx is recognized as .doc file)
- The filename contains brackets () (e.g. test().docx is recognized as .doc file)
- The filename is to long (e.g. "test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test.docx" is ok, "test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test test.docx" is recognized wrongly)

There might be several other criterias which trigger that, but these are the ones I tested.

We use the following versions:
Mailscanner: 5.0.2
Mailscanner Script: 3.16
MSFE: 8.19
OS: CentOS 6.8

Is this an actual bug or is there any setting in the config to prevent his behaviour?
Any help would be appreciated.

If you need any more information, please let me know.

Best regards,
Alex
