Mailscanner Quarantine

Post by schmerold »

When a message is quarantined, the sender and recipients aren't notified.

How can we change things so the recipient gets a note with the original email (minus the attachment) saying if you really really trust the sender you can download your message from http://server/mailscanner/...... ?

When spam is suspected, we want the sender to get a reject notice.

Or some similar behavior.

For the first question, if you want to notify the recipient of an attachment that has been blocked, see the setting "Deliver Cleaned Messages" in the MailScanner configuration file. I'm not sure if this will work for all attachments, you will need to do some testing.

For the second question, it is a bad idea to send notifications to senders of emails that have been identified as spam as this is very likely to get your server blacklisted. Therefore this is not supported when using the MailScanner Front-End.
