I have come across a significant number of forum posts where users stated that Configserver Modsec Control disable rule sometimes fails.
While trying to reproduce the issue I think I have stumbled onto the main cause of these problems.
I could reproduce the issue if I double click selected a rule ID then pasted it into CMC disable rule field.

if you add '^/home/user/public_html/wp-admin/post\.php' for DirectoryMatch in modsec2.whitelist.conf will be written '^/home/user/public_html/wp-admin/post \.php'
how you can see there is a space between 'post' and the escape character, which makes the rule invalid / unmatchable.
I've been running into an issue on several servers where CMC actually causes the contents of modsec2.user.conf to be duplicated within itself.
This is on up-to-date cPanel builds.
I tested this on a fresh server, by installing a basic rule set into modsec2.user.conf. As soon as I installed CMC and performed any actions in it, that file was duplicated within itself, causing duplicate rule IDs...
Using the upgrade link for cmc in WHM does not upgrade to version 2. Tried in several servers with same result.
