I have installed mailscanner using the configserver install script from here:

It installs MailScanner version v4.84.5 which according to the change log was released 5/3/2012. Is it possible to install/support version 4.85.2-2 which was released 13 April 2015?

About 70% of my customers on my small shared hosting service have WordPress installed, and Mailscanner seems to mark all messages from WordPress sites as spam. Whether it's via a contact form on the sites, or even just the automated notifications from WP (such as password change alerts, new user registration alerts, etc...) they all get marked as spam by Mailscanner.

Mailscanner is not blocking viruses. I have checked the virus.delivery.rules (all set to no) and virus.scanning.rules (all set to yes)

I have been running the ConfigServer FE to MailScanner for years with very few issues.

But now, when I click on Access Mailwatch, I get the error message
You do not have permission to run this script
If I log on a root, which I prefer not to, I can run it, but when I log on as a whm user that is supposed to have full privileges to run everything I cannot.

So, there must be a configuration file...

Hi, running MailScanner v4.84.5 and in the past have always put custom rules scores in /usr/mailscanner/etc/spamassassin.user.prefs.conf

Recently the custom scores in this file are being ignored and a score from somewhere else is being used. For example in spamassassin.user.prefs.conf I have

After moving MS and MSFE to a new server, it seems more junk is being missed than on the old box. I'm assuming it's because of my not installing Razor and DCC, as all other settings match the old box. We run ubuntu 14.04 with Postfix and Mailscanner installed for scanning our emails.
Today we received an email from one of our users about and email containing .dwg files in a zipped file.

This email had been blocked in the Mailscanner with the message MailScanner: No programs allowed (113B0K21.dwg)

As before we added some new rules to both filename.rules.conf and filetype.rules.conf...

I use Bayes filtering with Mailwatch and are very pleased with the results. Little gets through but spammers are cleaver.

I sometimes use the blacklist in MailScanner Frontend to block specific hosts such as *@baddomain. However many spammers use spam@sub.sub.sub.domain and it isn't feasible to list all their hosts in the blacklist. Is there a way to block *@*.domain so to speak in Mailscanner...

for some reason I found our mailscanner to have issues with gmail.com:

exim -bt user@gmail.com
user@gmail.com cannot be resolved at this time: All deliveries are handled by MailScanner

Also all emails sent from gmail to our server receive a 550 sender verify failed. This issue gets resolved when disabling mailscanner. What could be the cause of this?

Is there a way we can prevent local users on a hosted domain from scanning all together?

We have users that cannot email each other in the same domain without being picked up in the mailscanner. At the same time if i whitelist there domain, this allows spoofed emails from outside to come into our system without scanning.

1st. location: /var/lib/spamassassin
2nd. loc.: /usr/share/spamassassin

How can I find which of them use SA, or maybe SA use them both?
