After cPanels update to cPanel 11.24.0-C30250 - WHM 11.24.0 - X 3.9 (Accelerated) all
your scripts have this error on my server:

I am running mailscanner latest version 4.71.10-1 with clamav-2.94 at my cpanel server. recently i am seeing sometimes mail is not reaching the mailbox. seeing the log in exim_mainlog that one user of a domain has sent a mail to another user of same domain but mail is not delivered in the mailbox. more or less this type of problem happening sometimes not frequently and its happening only...

Not sure if this is technically correct but I thought I'd record this in case someone could a) shed some light on this and b) make sure I don't end up with the same issue in the future.

I had mailscanner setup and ticking over nicely when I opted to enable account specific settings and start editing specific accounts. As I went I realised that noticed difficulties in trying to get various rules...

While Mailscanner is successfully blocking all kinds of unacceptable attachements, it is trying to notify the sender by returning the following type of message:
One or more of the attachments (Fees_2008-2009.zip, Fees_2008-2009.doc.exe) are on
the list of unacceptable attachments for this site and will not have
been delivered.

Consider renaming the files to avoid this...

I appreciate that much of the resources available are free but having looked through the information in the Install.txt and Readme.txt files I'm painfully aware that there are a number of ambiguities that aren't covered.

3. You now need to disable the following options in WHM:

WHM > Tweak Settings > SpamAssassin > uncheck
WHM > Service Manager > spamd > uncheck
Feature Manager > Edit feature...

A few months ago, I had ConfigServer install MailScanner for me. It worked great. Well I had some firewall concerns so I had them install CFG. Well ever since the CFG install, ClamAV and MySQL kept failing. My server support team fixed my SQL issue. Mail still worked but I was still getting the ClamAV error.

I did an upgrade on the Mailscanner, the front end, and ClamAV. All went well but...

I have the following question: Is it possible to set up server wide spam filtering rules?

For example on our server we are getting a lot of spam with the line Win, win with us - our cool casino.. in the message text. These messages can be filtered out on an account by account basis using the account level filtering in Cpanel, but it would be very useful to be able to do this also server wide....

indeed on root level i see clamav 0.91 dir, it was not installed bu yum since the remove command returns no package marked for...

but i looking for some way to get a daily rapport that i can put on my homepage
so users can See how many email and spam that's have been scanned every day and so on
so is it somebody there can give me some hints to what i cant do or where to look for more information
iam using the free mailscanner script with clamd antivirus

My customers are getting bombarded with the bogus CNN Alert emails.

How can we block them server wide based on the subject?

My bayes rules stopped processing a couple days ago & I need a reminder as to how this could happen when I have my bayes rebuild setting set to zero.

Assuming my db was corrupt or something, how long does it take to get a DB built back up where bayes rules kick into gear again? What is the general rule of thumb?

My customer's emails are being blocked if they have a .png or .mov file attached to the email. For the life of me, I can't figure out what to change to allow these attachments to go through.

I'm using ConfigServer Security & Firewall - csf v3.39. The config file in WHM doesn't show the files.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

After installing mailscanner, I get this email when trying to use WHMAutoPilot to send an email.

Gid 32057 is not permitted to relay mail, or has directly called /usr/sbin/exim instead of /usr/sbin/sendmail.

Starting about 4 days ago (July 14, 2008), I've been getting a couple hundred e-mails a day that are making it through the spam checking process because SA times out.

My users are starting to complain.

So... thinking about it, I believe this is around the time I upgraded to the most recent ClamAV. Could this be the culprit? Is there a way to downgrade, or maybe I should to something else...

I've just installed your MailScanner, and e-mails are now arriving marked as '{Definitely Spam?}' - so the checking is definitely working.

How do I set it server wide to delete these e-mails ? - Do I have to manually edit the file:

/usr/mailscanner/etc/rules/spamhigh.action.rules

and change each from deliver to delete ?? - Or is there a better (or easier/quicker) way of doing this ?

We have had at least 2 instances of a virus getting through mailscanner today. Never before have we had any get through to my knowledge in 18 months of using mailscanner

The email have a zip file attached - images**.zip - I recall some time ago that similar named attached virus (or back-door Trojans) were prolific some time ago, but mailscanner always caught them.

I enabled logging this morning as it's been happening for a couple of weeks now.
I normally have daily failures. These are the messages just before it fails.
