Hi,

I've noticed that the cPanel disk usage emails sent to hosted clients were all marked as low spam.

The emails were sent from cpanel@local-domain-name with a client IP of 127.0.0.1 and tripped the KAM_MAILBOX2 rule with a score of 6.25.

The KAM_MAILBOX2 rule relates to Mailbox Quota Phishing Scams.

How do I stop internal cpanel emails from triggering this rule while keeping the score as...

Hi, I try to REPORT SPAM, but unfortunately I keep getting the following error shown by the MSFE pop-up (please see below) & reporting of the e-mail as spam unfortunately fails..

Please note:-
A) We are running Directadmin v1.658, Exim version 4.97 #2, SpamAssassin V4.0, MailScanner v5.4.4., ConfigServer MailScanner Script v5.08 & MailScanner Front-End v9.25).
B) From SpamAssassin V4.0+ onwards...

there is a default setting in MailScanner which is brutally restrictive, though understandable in its intentions. Any document (or file in general) that has TWO or more periods (example document.version2.pdf) is stopped automatically as being a virus (often scammers will disguise executables by appending them with an innocent file extension, such as document.exe.pdf). In the INSTALL.TXT file there are specific instructions for CloudLinux 8 but nothing for CloudLinux 9.

Should I use the CloudLinux v8 Instructions or AlmaLinux v9?

Wondering if someone could explain how Mailscanner handles contact forms?
Probably a dumb question but I didn't find an answer from my searches.
Have been seeing an increase of copy paste stuff into contact boxes on some sites and wondering if using Learn as Spam would affect all the contact forms sent or just the content of the forms ?

I'm having an issue. I have a client who sends emails with files that break the rule for file names:

This isn't a problem, I normally just bypass the client with a change to filename.rules.rules which I have set for that client to no.rules. But that didn't work. I've gone so far as to change...

I think I may have tinkered with mailscanner a year or two ago but never went ahead with it. Now, for ome reason all emails on my server are stuck in the mail queue with the error form cpanel mail manager:

I ran through the forum a bit to see if this had been answered, and went through the list of troubleshooting options but basically the problem is that MailScanner is failing to catch some REALLY entry level spam. Hi. I am getting this message in the Spam Report (components) of mail control:

Where should I change this open resolver? Or what should be done? Any ideas?

More and more spam emails are arriving at my servers with message bodies that look legit so they pass as NOT spam. But their PDF attachment contains blatant spam, so they are using this method to get by the spam filters. Does Mailscanner scan PDF files for spam? If not, what can be done to stop this?

We've been using Mailscanner on our servers and so far it's been very helpful.

However, we would like to find a way to NOT forward emails that are flagged as High Spam Score to any email forwarders our clients might have.
We want to do this in order to prevent any further rate limiting from clients like Gmail and Outlook that is being caused due to the massive spam emails our servers...

I'd like to send all RBL lookup queries to a remote standalone DNS server dedicated to RBL lookups only.

Our cPanel install uses the non-caching version of pDNS, a remote Bind install would go some way to getting access to our RBLs back without the your query was blocked issues we're currently facing.
