Hi, I try to REPORT SPAM, but unfortunately I keep getting the following error shown by the MSFE pop-up (please see below) & reporting of the e-mail as spam unfortunately fails..
Please note:-
A) We are running Directadmin v1.658, Exim version 4.97 #2, SpamAssassin V4.0, MailScanner v5.4.4., ConfigServer MailScanner Script v5.08 & MailScanner Front-End v9.25).
B) From SpamAssassin V4.0+ onwards...
there is a default setting in MailScanner which is brutally restrictive, though understandable in its intentions. Any document (or file in general) that has TWO or more periods (example document.version2.pdf) is stopped automatically as being a virus (often scammers will disguise executables by appending them with an innocent file extension, such as document.exe.pdf). Unfortunately...
Wondering if someone could explain how Mailscanner handles contact forms?
Probably a dumb question but I didn't find an answer from my searches.
Have been seeing an increase of copy paste stuff into contact boxes on some sites and wondering if using Learn as Spam would affect all the contact forms sent or just the content of the forms ?
I'm having an issue. I have a client who sends emails with files that break the rule for file names:
Report: MailScanner: Attempt to hide real filename extension (10CWCY-221047Spectrum.pdf8.pdf)
This isn't a problem, I normally just bypass the client with a change to filename.rules.rules which I have set for that client to no.rules. But that didn't work. I've gone so far as to change...

Good Morning
I ran through the forum a bit to see if this had been answered, and went through the list of troubleshooting options but basically the problem is that MailScanner is failing to catch some REALLY entry level spam. My out of the box junk mail filter is catching every single one of them. There might be 20 every morning, most of the same exact spam emails, that MailScanner is failing to...
On a cPanel server running MailScanner for the last several years, for some strange reason, emails from all users on the domain to each other are being suddenly marked as spam.
I checked spam.scanning.rules at /usr/mailscanner/etc/rules/ and found an entry that marks incoming emails to this domain to be scanned:
To: *@domain.com yes
The solution seems to be to define a ruleset at...
This afternoon I updated my MailScanner and MailScanner Front end.
Now MailScanner will no longer start.
Below are the error messages.
Any guidance on how to resolve this will be greatly appreciated.

More and more spam emails are arriving at my servers with message bodies that look legit so they pass as NOT spam. But their PDF attachment contains blatant spam, so they are using this method to get by the spam filters. Does Mailscanner scan PDF files for spam? If not, what can be done to stop this?
We've been using Mailscanner on our servers and so far it's been very helpful.
However, we would like to find a way to NOT forward emails that are flagged as High Spam Score to any email forwarders our clients might have.
We want to do this in order to prevent any further rate limiting from clients like Gmail and Outlook that is being caused due to the massive spam emails our servers...
I'd like to send all RBL lookup queries to a remote standalone DNS server dedicated to RBL lookups only.
Our cPanel install uses the non-caching version of pDNS, a remote Bind install would go some way to getting access to our RBLs back without the your query was blocked issues we're currently facing.
If I were to add the following to /etc/mail/spamassassin/local.cf would MailScanner...
I've been trying to stop a bot from sending email with a subject like:

by creating filters in cPanel>>Global Email Filters but I am seeing this error in my logs:
