Re: Mailscanner is accepting mails to non existing accounts

This has nothing to do with MailScanner. It is exim that accepts or rejects emails based on whether the account exists. You need to check either the cPanel forum or exim newsgroup and documentation for help with this.

Re: Installation Service Time

Re: (OSM) SMTP packet inspection

Assuming you already installed PCAP on the server as per the installation instructions in install.txt, you need to reinstall the perl module mentioned in the errors by running this script:

Code: Select all

sh /etc/osm/osmpcap.sh
Then check the log (/etc/osm/osmpcap.log) to make sure it installed correctly:

Re: Uninstall mailwatch doubt: Mailscanner database and Mailwatch/MailControl

Mailwatch uses a mysql database named "mailscanner" (this is a systemwide database not tied to any particular domain). Because of the late situation with Mailwatch, I believe that we will be forced to uninstall Mailwatch sooner or later. To understand the consequences of that I need some ...

Re: Mailscanner update

Does that means that in almost 3 years there is no significant update in Mailscanner? Yes, that's correct. Is it still being actively developed? Not for significant new features, no. In general it is only being worked on to fix bugs but not add to the feature set. We fix bugs affecting exim and cPa...

Re: Mailscanner update

We use our own forked version of MailScanner with the MailScanner Front-End and do not update our package to the latest official MailScanner version unless there are compelling new features or fixes.
