Just wondering if anyone had any ideas on this - following my last post in March ?
There are quite times, but again the last few days I've had over 15,000 of these.
Thanks in advance

Re: SMTP Failures (smtpauth) -dovecot_plain authenticator fa
I implemented this last year, but had to remove it as it was preventing incoming e-mails from being delivered. The number of SMTP failure attempts have now started again and I'm looking to implement this or something else again. Do you know why it would have preventing incoming e-mails from coming t...

Re: SMTP Failures (smtpauth) -dovecot_plain authenticator fa
I'm about to make these changes on a server that used to have cpanel, but it expired - and I am no longer using cpanel. I'm trying to follow the instructions and it refers to editing the exim.conf.local or 'active exim.conf' file. How can I tell which one is active ? - As I cannot find exim.conf.loc...

Re: SMTP Failures (smtpauth) -dovecot_plain authenticator fa
Thanks for your reply. That is great news.
Just to confirm - This won't affect anything other than people trying to send e-mails via SMTP through the server - ie, won't affect server pages/applications sending out e-mails, and other incoming/outgoing e-mails.

SMTP Failures (smtpauth) -dovecot_plain authenticator failed
Recently I have been receiving hundreds of e-mails per day for failed SMTP authentications. These are from many countries including Serbia, Russia, Taiwan, Vietnam, Libya and many more. The site is running cPanel and the sites on the server send out e-mail, but any mail clients are set to send out e...

Re: Running Scan from Command Line ?
Thanks for the reply - That's great.
What is the inbuild csf UI that you refer to ? - Can that be accessed directly without cPanel or Webmin, etc ?
Thanks
Daniel

Running Scan from Command Line ?
I used to use CSF with cPanel and there was an option with the CSF plug-in to run a security scan. It would give a score and list suggestions on improvements. Is this same feature available from the command line (as I no longer use cPanel) ? - I've had a look through the documentation and couldn't f...
