I presume this is a VPS? Whether everything needs to be reinstalled depends on whether the server provider can upgrade the OS without wiping everything out on your VPS and restoring it. What OS are you running? If it is Fedora Core 4 you cannot upgrade ClamAV as the last gcc update for that dead OS borks the ClamAV build. So, you'll either have to downgrade ClamAV, manually upgrade gcc, or, move to a supported OS.

No, MailWatch was specifically created to run on top of MailScanner, it cannot be used without it.

Sounds like you are trying to run something that reqiures a response, interactively in the cse virtual console, which you can't do. You'll have to actually do it in ssh.
