Re: update error last few days

Hello, I don't know if this is related, but I do not believe my IP addresses are getting updated, as I have been getting similar email: Oops: Unable to download: Can't connect to download.configserver.com:443 (timeout) I have a dedicated server with Codero. And I use some different CC blocking succe...

Which file to edit ?

Hello, Which file can I edit to change the "300" seconds in the following setting. The UI Configuration utility just gives the option to turn it on or off. I would like to change the period of time between checks. "Check whether csf appears to have been stopped and restart if necessar...

Re: CSF Timeout when retrieving GeoIP information

Hello, I have opened the file /usr/bin/csf in my html editor and line #1520 is: &syscommand(__LINE__,"$config{IPTABLES} $verbose -I CC_DENY -s $ip -j $drop"); I see it has something to do with CC_DENY, but I dont understand why CSF keeps erroring at this line. Is there something on thi...

Re: CSF Timeout when retrieving GeoIP information

Thank you for pointing me in this direction. I have determined it is not timing out when connecting to GeoIP, and in fact the current GeoIP db is downloaded to the server, as are all the various country zone files. After thinking the time out was happening whenever it got to a particular country, I ...

Re: CSF Timeout when retrieving GeoIP information

Hello and thank you for your reply. I'm not getting a specific error in the WHM interface, but rather the update just appears to hang after 4 or 5 minutes and from that point no matter how much longer I let it go, it retrieves no more addresses. I've let it sit for several hours and whatever number ...

CSF Timeout when retrieving GeoIP information

Hello, I am very thankful to this message board for some great information. I am running CSF v6.39 on a Centos 5.1 server using WHM 11.4.31 web interface. This is a quad dual xeon server w/32GB ram. I am successfully using CC_DENY to block several countries. I have been able to add up to about 15,00...

Re: How to confirm running and cc blocking

Ahhhh. It would seem I was misunderstanding CC_ALLOW_FILTER, thinking it was essentially blocking all, but allowing in my case US. It seems that is not the case. Let me please ask this follow up. Rather than me blocking quite a few CC codes specifically, since I understand that would create immense ...

Re: How to confirm running and cc blocking

As an update to my own post, I ran view IP Table Rules from the CSF interface, and see about 13,358 lines of IP addresses starting with 3.0.0.0/10 and ends with 190.92.202.0/24. Can I presume these are all the US addresses? Where in the iptables does it explicitly block all others, I'm having troubl...

How to confirm running and cc blocking

Hello, I have searched the forums and do not see this specific question. I am running a new installation of CSF v6.39 on a Centos 5.1 server using WHM 11.4.31 web interface. This is a quad dual xeon server w/32GB ram. I have CSF config'd for CC_ALLOW_FILTER=US After 2 unsuccessful restarts, I disabl...
