I have used CSF in many cpanel envionments and it is great. I just installed in on a non-whm (webmin) environment. I installed the module and have access to it via the admin interface. My question is, how do I go about getting it to check the mail, apache, php and server services similar to the WHM ...

I too would love this. I use CSF on a variety of systems and would like to have this check on the non cpanel ones.

for anyone else looking to fix this.

The following command will suppress the messages.

dmesg -n 1

to suppress all messages from the kernel (and its drivers) except panic messages from appearing on the console.

To fix at each boot, add the command to:
/etc/rc.local

I came across viewtopic.php?t=222 byt its over 5 years old.

Is there anyway to stop CSF from outputting to the console? It spits out so much it prevents me from logging on to my server (CentOS 6.4 with WHM 11.40.16)

I was able to fix it. In my troubleshooting I changed the mailing app to use port 25 rather than 587. Once I changed it back to 587 and made sure that it was removed from SMTP_PORTS all started working correctly.

Yes it is listed, so that is the problem.

If I turn off SMTP_BLOCK it sends fine. If I leave it on and remove port 587, change and restart, my connection is still blocked. I would rather not turn it off.

OK so I was able to modify the suhosin.ini file and was able prevent the item showing in messages but csf is still blocking the connection.
