CMC duplicating modsec2.user.conf within itself

I've been running into an issue on several servers where CMC actually causes the contents of modsec2.user.conf to be duplicated within itself. This is on up-to-date cPanel builds. I tested this on a fresh server, by installing a basic rule set into modsec2.user.conf. As soon as I installed CMC and p...

Re: Suggestion for ARF Reporting

This would be really nice to have; it looks like fail2ban has a "complain" function, something similar would be great. http://serverfault.com/questions/448779/have-fail2ban-send-notification-to-banned-party I know this is a really old thread, but I figured I would bump it instead of making...

Re: CIDR Blocks Deny not working

I've never seen an issue with this. Iptables rules should not be allowing those IPs to reach your server at all if csf.deny is properly formatted. Are you putting #"do not delete" next to the cidr blocks so that they are not rotated out when the deny limit is reached?

Users blocked with correct PW if auth daemons full or down

Not sure if this can be fixed from CSF/LFD's side or not, however, my bosses (at a major hosting provider) consider this a CSF bug since users can be blocked even when using correct passwords. Assume cPanel centOS server here. problem: If authdaemond is busy or down, logins (even with the correct pa...

Re: Ignore WHMCS Cron

Edit csf.pignore and add something like this:

cmd:php -q /home/****/public_html/admin/cron.php

obviously use the username that you munged.

If that won't work you could do

exe:/home/virtfs/register/usr/bin/php

but, that would ignore any php apps that run from that binary from process tracking.

Re: 5.38 not working without iptable_nat module

Output is as follows: root@host [/home/temp/csf]# iptables -t nat -L POSTROUTING -nv iptables v1.2.11: can't initialize iptables table `nat': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?) Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded. Thanks for looking into this. As I said above, updating an...

5.38 not working without iptable_nat module

CSF 5.31 has been working fine on my VPS for some time. Upon installing 5.38 I am presented with; iptables v1.2.11: can't initialize iptables table `nat': Table does not exist (do you need to insmod?) Perhaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded. Error: iptables command [/sbin/iptables -v -t...
