Post New cxs v1.24 auto upgrade required FTP restart to complete
Not sure if this is a bug but it seems like it might be so I'm posting in this section.

CSX silent auto upgrades occur at 5:00am EST on my servers and typically do not encounter or create any issues, and I always receive the email notification from the servers that CSX has been upgraded.

However, today's upgrade happened at 5:00am but it never completed and I never received the email notifications.

It was until I just happened to notice / start getting "suspicious process" notifications from the servers, all FTP related, and I restarted FTP on all the servers that CSX finally completed it's upgrade and I received the CSX upgraded email notifications.

Does this seem odd?

Unfortunately, it seems that pure-ftpd is rather flaky when it comes to restarting it at times, though I've not seen any issues since the workarounds we put in with v1.21

Thanks for the reply chirpy. If this had only happened on one server I would have never even bothered to post - I would have chalked it up to just a fluke. But it happened on several different servers, all of which I tend to keep as "plain vanilla default" as possible as I'm not one to toy with things that I'm not familiar with. All I pretty much do is make sure that I keep WHM/cPanel updated (Release) and make sure my ConfigServer scripts are updated, and occasionally run EasyApache to make sure everything is up to par. That's why I found it particularly odd that all 3 servers experienced the same issue with CSX. I'll chalk this up to a fluke this time around and re-visit this thread if it happens again (or submit a ticket if you'd like to take a look for yourself).
